The CSS Neuse Foundation is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing The CSS Ram Neuse II, the world’s only full-scale replica of a Confederate ironclad.
Presently, our volunteers open the Neuse II from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturdays. They also provide private tours of the gunboat by appointment.

As you can imagine, absorbing costs for property and casualty insurance, liability insurance, and utilities places a serious drain on a budget chiefly funded by donations. Maintenance just adds to the costs.
Our major fund-raiser is “Wings over the Neuse.” We have also hosted “Breakfast on the Boat” as a way to raise funds and increase public awareness of the historic treasure sitting on the corner of Herritage and Gordon streets in Kinston.
The Neuse II is a work in progress. We have accomplished much so far, but so much more remains to be done.
